Dr Vasilios A. Zerris, Professor of Neurosurgery at European University of Cyprus/Laureate International Universities, the University of Cyprus and Texas A&M University, USA, is a Harvard University graduate and fully trained in neurosurgery in the USA.

He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Before coming to Greece and Cyprus, he served as Chief of the University Neurosurgery Clinic and Chief of the Neurosurgery Training Program at Baylor Scott and White Health Care System in Texas.

Together with his collaborators, he is actively involved in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment of surgical conditions of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and peripheral nerves in both adults and children.

THE TEAM

The surgical team consists of the neurosurgeons: Gerhard Friehs MD, MA, FACGS, IFAANS and Dimitris Katsianis MD. In craniosynostosis cases, apart from Professor Zerris, the team works with Spyros Lazarou MD, Plastic Craniomaxillofacial and Reconstructive Surgeon, and Neofytos Dimitriadis DDS, MD, MSc, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. The anesthesiology team consists of Spyridon Kalakonas MD, Maria Pasiali-Psoma MD, and Sofia Schiza MD, all with experience in major clinics both in Greece and abroad. Finally, the team is completed by Mariana Georgiopoulou, Head of Communication and Coordination for all team activities (Communication Affairs), and Stalo Grouta – Kazamia, practice manager for Cyprus (Cyprus Practice Manager).
