Apart from the neurosurgeons, our USA-trained surgical team also includes a plastic craniomaxillofacial reconstructive surgeon and an oral maxillofacial surgeon, thus being able to undertake complex craniomaxillofacial conditions.<\/p>\n

We treat congenital cranial and facial anomalies, increased complexity craniofacial injuries, craniofacial tumors, maxillomandibular and ocular orbits anomalies, and craniosynostosis.<\/p>\n

Timely and successful surgery ensures an excellent aesthetic and functional outcome, giving patients a normal life.<\/p>\n<\/div>

CONGENITAL CRANIAL AND FACIAL ANOMALIES<\/strong><\/p>\n

The congenital cranial and facial anomalies vary from the simple tongue frenulum to craniofacial dysmorphias (such as craniosynostosis, clefts, or congenital nevi). Complex anatomy requires the collaboration of different specializations for full restoration.<\/p>\n

Craniosynostosis is particularly worth mentioning. This is the premature closure of the points (called \u201csutures\u201d) where, at the beginning of our lives, the individual bones that make up the skull join one another. This results in skull development disorders that can cause dysmorphia but also, in the most severe cases, affect the development of the brain with catastrophic consequences. Fortunately, early diagnosis and successful intervention can frequently lead to our young patients living a normal life.

CRANIOFACIAL INJURY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Combined skull and face injuries often require the collaboration of a neurosurgeon, a craniofacial surgeon, and an oral maxillofacial surgeon, as they may include, in addition to the skull, fractures of the upper and lower jaw, the nose, the cheekbones, and the ocular orbits.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

CRANIOFACIAL TUMOUR<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tumors at the base of the skull as well as the orbits are characterized by particularly increased surgical difficulty. Successful removal of the tumor, with a satisfactory functional outcome, must be accompanied with a good aesthetic result that can equally positively affect the patient\u2019s quality of life. The only way to ensure this goal is through the collaboration between different specialties and surgical team.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
